Echinacea x 'Tomato Soup'
Tomato Soup Coneflower Zones: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Another great coneflower hybrid originating from Terra Nova Nursery, Tomato Soup has bright red/orange flowers with small green cones and long, spreading, petals. Plants grow to around 3' tall and 2' wide with 4-5" flowers. As with all of the coneflowers, flowers start out intensely colored and fade over time.

They want full sun, good drainage, and average to dry BASIC soil. The coneflower hybrids do not like acidic soils and winter moisture. Mid/late-summer, dry-growing, flowering companions could include other coneflowers, Butterfly Weed, Pink Muhly Grass, Coreopsis, Achillea, Russian Sage, Black-eyed Susans, and Blue Love Grass. Best planted in late spring through very early fall.
