Schizophragma hydrangeoides 'Moonlight'
Japanese Climbing Hydrangea Zones: 5, 6, 7, 8
Japanese Climbing Hydrangea is a great vine for part shade and good, moist soil. Growing 20 to 30 feet tall, this variety, 'Moonlight', has heart-shaped, almost succulent, silvery leaves with green veins and 9 inch, lacey, pie-shaped, creamy white flower clusters in mid to late summer. Plants climb by means of "hold fasts" which stick to any surface that is not smooth. This stout vine becomes woody over time with a moderate growth rate. Branches will project out a foot or two from the main stems, and leaves turn a nice yellow in the fall before falling off. The silvery color of the leaves makes it a great choice to brighten up a shady place. Cat# 1424
