Phlox carolina is native to all the southeastern states, Missouri and Arkansas in deciduous woods, savannahs, and clearings. Brilliant pink, dome-shaped panicles on 18" stems appear in early to mid summer. It is beautiful in the wild along roadsides.;'Kim' is a shorter, slowly spreading ground covering selection that does well in full to part sun and average to moist soil. Flower color is not as intense, medium pink/lavender. Let it form a mat at the front of your garden along with 'Blue Ice' bluestar, and Canada anemone. It is mildew resistant and attracts butterflies.; Cat# 1602
